4th of July

Not a very descriptive title, I know. Hopefully my pictures do a better job of conveying how much fun we had on the 4th. I don't have any from the first part of the day, where we went to Jacob's family's house down in Madison county, but that was a wonderful time of delicious food and fun volleyball. (And road-tripping in Jacob's new mustang. Yes.)

We headed back up to Warrenton in the evening for a fantastic fireworks show with quite possibly the best grand finale I've ever seen. My aunt and cousin met us there, and we had fun goofing off before the show:

For some reason Picasa didn't want to let me only do 3 pictures here. So there is a duplicate. Oh well. Lucas had fun with the big guys.
Miss that buddy of mine (who just turned 6!)

Turns out Lucas can take pretty good pictures. And apparently I was the only one who thought it would be necessary to squat down a little.

But my friends are just SO gracious and obliging...they wouldn't want me to feel uncommonly short, you know.

As it turns out, I actually like feeling short. Especially next to my stud-beast. :-)
It's so hard to believe that July is almost halfway over and that summer will all too soon be gone. I'm just doing everything I can to make the most of the BEST season of the year while it lasts.
