After we left DC that Saturday afternoon, we drove to Richmond and went to the State Fair in the evening. We paid the overpriced ATM fees so that we could pay for the overpriced rides, the overpriced games, and most definitely, the overpriced funnel cakes.
There were animals... (This is kind of what Levi looks like in the morning, or when he goes too long without a hair cut):
We rode some rides, had some cheeseburger sliders while we went to the country music concert, and of course, saved the ferris wheel for last.

We found an amazing place to stop for lunch called the Tobacco Company Restaurant, and it was in an old building that used to store/process (?) tobacco. I think it was one of the most unique restaurants I've ever been to, and if I lived in Richmond I would want to eat there all the time because the environment was so cool and the food was so delicious.

We browsed through old shops and bookstores, visited historic sights, and just enjoyed being together. By the time we got home Sunday night we were so relaxed and really really happy that we didn't have to get up for work the next morning because it was a holiday. So all of Monday was spent being at home, relaxing some more, and getting ready for the next week. It was a perfect birthday weekend!
