Happy Eyes

I should note right away that this post doesn't really have anything to do with Levi, or "us." (Although he has patiently listened to me rave about this more than once.) This is a post for if-Brooke-had-a-Brooke-blog-and-not-a-Brooke-and-Levi-blog. But since I don't....it goes here. And it's a shout-out especially to the ladies.

Tired of your eyeshadow creasing after you wear it just a few short hours?

Tired of your eye makeup looking runny and faded?

Tired of looking like those minutes it took you to put on your eye makeup NEVER existed?

I was too. Until I purchased Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion! (There are different tints, but I got Original so I could wear it under anything.)

This stuff has seriously changed my eyeshadow woes into eyeshadow glows! I didn't think it was possible for a product to actually prevent creasing and fading, but this one truly does! It has changed my life in terms of eye makeup, and I think I'll be buying it til the day I die. Also, a little bit goes a long way, so thankfully, that means I won't break the bank with my life-long purchases. ;-)

At the same time that I bought this from Sephora, I also bought a couple of their eyeshadow monos - peach beige and black flame. Combined, they create a wonderful smoky eye that you can keep light or make darker according to preference. As far as eyeliners go, I found their smoky khol liner, (I got the grey) which smudges very nicely but then stays put throughout the day after it dries. I've been alternating between this and Cover Girl Liquiline Blast, which goes on really clean and stays on for for-ever
Basically, I've been having a ton of fun, and I'm especially beside myself with joy that I no longer face the doom of the crease! I can now put on my eye makeup and reasonably expect it to look the same when I take it off at 10:30 p.m. as it did when I put it on at 8:30 a.m. Amazing! Why it took me so long to discover this treasure, I'll never know. But my guess is you just don't expect that kind of stuff to actually work, so you don't bother trying. Well, I'm glad I did.

Also - my husband did sit and listen to me explain all of this stuff about eyeshadow and makeup and how happy it makes me to find stuff I like. He was very supportive and patient as I expressed my joy. What an awesome guy!

  1. It's amazing to have a guy that sits and listens to our girly giggle-filled descriptions of things they couldn't care less about. :)

Urban Decay has amazing products, including their Lush Lash System for lashes that are sparse or weak - I've been using it for 2 months, and my natural lashes look like I've attached fake ones to fill in my spaces. Truly remarkable.

I haven't tried the primer (I've used Laura Mercier for a few years and it works well) but when I run out, I'll have to check out UD's!

  2. YES! I love Urban Decay Primer Potion. I have a mini tube of it that came with their Naked palette. That eyeshadow palette is honestly the most amazing makeup item I've ever tried. It was a major splurge (hehe, I justified it because it was for the wedding), but I literally have not used another eyeshadow since I bought this palette several months ago. Love. It.

Haha, I so agree with you, Page. "Girly giggle-filled descriptions of things they couldn't care less about..." Yay! :)
