miss my molly

I found a quote by C.S. Lewis once that said, "You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me." I may not be a tea fan, and sometimes some books just are too long, but this is exactly how I feel about my dear friend Molly. No visit with her is long enough to suit me!

She moved back to California recently to spend the summer there before she takes the next 8 or 9 months to let her creative writing juices flow all over London and Italy starting in September. She was here for a visit this past week, and we got to spend an afternoon together shopping, getting coffee, and catching up.

It was definitely harder to say goodbye this time, because at least last time, I knew I would see her again in a few months. But this time, it was like a goodbye goodbye. And oh, how I hate goodbyes, especially those kind. She was here for long enough that it felt like she was back for good and short enough for me realize how very much I've missed her.

So here's to you, Friend. May your pages always be filled with inspirational words of beauty and truth, may your heart be full of light even if the skies of London aren't, and may a tall, handsome Italian man give you lessons on driving manual cars and then be very impressed by how fast you learned - because he doesn't know that I already taught you. ;-)
